My momma always said, “Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.”

– Forrest Gump

Let’s talk about the film Forrest Gump. This movie is an example of how beautiful a movie can be. The plot is simple yet beautiful.

This movie was released in 1994. In the same year, two more movies were released- “The Shawshank Redemption” and “Pulp fiction”. But ‘Forrest Gump’ won the Oscar that year by competing with these two impeccable movies! Tom Hanks also got the best actor award for the character of Forrest Gump.

Forrest is a mediocre man with a below-average IQ. Though he achieves a lot more than most people would imagine accomplishing.

As a child, Forrest had problems with his legs. The doctor then makes him a special pair of shoes to walk. When his mother took him to school, the principal did not want to accept him in school because of his lower IQ level. Then at school bust, he meets Jenny. His only friend and lifelong love.

Other boys make fun of him. So he has to run for himself. And finally, when the braces fall from his legs, it is revealed that he can run really really fast. This running ability earn him a place in the college rugby team.

After college graduation, he serves in the army. Forrest meets Buba Blue in training-. Buba, who is overwhelmed with the shrimp business, becomes his new friend at day one.

Then he is sent to Vietnam to fight the war. He not only survives the combat but also rescues many of his men. Forrest is awarded the Medal of Honor for his bravery.

Time goes on. 75-IQ Forrest becomes table tennis champion, start a shrimp business, and be successful everywhere with his stupid-like determination. But one person Forrest cares about most may be the most challenging to save – his childhood love, the sweet but troubled Jenny.

After all, the movie ‘Forrest Gump’ is about love and friendship, life vs determination, and appreciation of life while you have it. Gump’s story reveals that you never know what’s going to happen tomorrow.

Whether you missed or skipped, it’s always high time to have a little walk with Forrest Gump.
